dinnerRevolution Cookbook Giveaway

I am really excited to offer y'all this giveaway! I was contacted by Chef Jeff Pirtle author of dinnerRevolution to giveaway copies of his new cookbook to my readers. The best part about the cookbook is that the tagline on it is "Healthy Modern recipes made simply with 10 ingredients or less in under 30 minutes", that line alone instantly pulled me in.

10 ingredients or less means less money-yes please! This graduate wife can't afford to blow money and her husband is about sick of grilled chicken.

Under 30 minutes-I just may crawl out of my cooking rut. We all know I have been in one hence the lack of recipes lately. Needless to say after a long day at school I am not in the mood to hang over the stove all evening. Especially since Jeremy is gone to class until late-does not make for a desire to cook elaborately long recipes.

So without even making it past the front cover I was instantly excited about what recipes would be inside. I need some new ideas-and we all know how much I love cookbooks. My dream is to have a whole shelf in my kitchen devoted to cookbooks, one day.

I'll get to the point, the awesome part of this giveaway is that everyone benefits from it. Unlike the type we usually participate in where one lucky blogger walks away with something, all of my readers will be able to get the cookbook. This book will be selling for $27! Ladies (and the few dudes that read) we just got lucky with this one. Chef Jeff is being so kind to offer it up to all my readers because he is looking for feedback before he rolls it out officially!

So here is how you get this easy healthy cookbook, (1) follow the link below by clicking on the book cover:

(2) Enter your name and email.
(3) A confirmation email will be sent to you and you must confirm in order to recieve the book.

I hope y'all enjoy the book! If you choose to receive it feel free to leave a comment letting me know what you think and I will be sure to get it to Chef Jeff!

Mary Kay Review

Recently I was sent a few products to try from Mary Kay. I've always heard great things around the company and the products, but always assumed they were too expensive for me...so I never tried a single product. Let's just say what I was sent may have just changed my makeup life and opinion. Here is a little about the product I received from the company's website:

Mary Kay® Lash Love™ Mascara,
I ♥ black
Love your lashes with the mascara that defines, defends and delivers 4 times the volume. Lashes appear fuller, lifted and multiplied, while looking naturally flawless, soft and healthy. The flexible, sculpted brush separates and coats even hard-to-reach lashes, and the Mary Kay Panthenol-Pro Complex™ and vitamin E help moisturize and strengthen lashes.

Mary Kay® Compact Mini (unfilled)

Tiny enough to tuck anywhere, this sleek new compact is perfect for the woman on the go. Enjoy thousands of customizable options. The mirror makes touch-ups a breeze and the hidden well underneath holds tools and applicators. Plus, the patented† compact design features the easy-to-use magnetic refill system.

Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color
Strawberry Cream
Yummy pink swirled with a hint of glamorous golden shimmer. The mineral-based formula of Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color in Strawberry Cream is famous for its oil-absorbing properties, ease of application and excellent coverage. Plus, Mary Kay® Mineral Cheek Color is so versatile that, no matter what your skin tone, you can start with a natural glow and then build fade-resistant color as you like it. Contains vitamins A, C and E to help protect against wrinkle-causing free radicals. Designed to fit perfectly in the Mary Kay® Compact.

I also received the Mineral Eye Color in Iris, Silver Satin, and Sweet Cream and a lipstick in Fushia.
Here I am with no makeup-getting ready in the morning.
Now I have to show you a pic of this, I was totally impressed with the compact. Not  only was the mineral makeup amazing, it went on so smooth and even, it came with a nice blush applicator, the standard eye applicator...but it included my hands down favorite type of bristle eye applicator. Half the reason I never have liked compacts is because the eye applicators suck. Let me just tell you this one did not suck at all!:) When we went out of town for the Jazz Marathon this weekend I was able to hide my wedding rings in the bottom section of the compact for safe keeping-total plus for safe travel and keeping-especially when we go to Italy next month
Here I am post makeup application at 7am.
Leaving for work:)

Now here is what surpassed all the love I already had for these products, this pic was taken around 5 after I had worked all day and had a faculty meeting to sit through. Makeup is still on. By the end of the day I usually look like I didn't put any on. Especially the blush, it disappears immediately on me-this literally lasted all day without me reapplying a single time.

Finally the kicker-the mascara did not flake off under my eyes. Almost every brand of mascara I have ever laid hands on has flaked on me. I even used waterproof for a bit-it flaked too.

Let's just say this $15 Mary Kay mascara changed my life! Ha, but seriously I love these products. A month ago I would have told you that I would never buy Mary Kay because of the $$$, but now after using the products I plan to buy and buy again.

What's you favorite Mary Kay product? I'm dying to know, I want to try them all:)!

Overstock.com Reader Discount

I don't know about y'all but my Mom and I have shopped on Overstock for years. I just love the savings they offer and the cheap CHEAP shipping. Seriously, they offer $2.95 shipping regardless of the size of the order. I personally can't stand paying tons on shipping, especially when shipping costs more than the order itself, but that is not a problem at all with Overstock.

Overstock offers products ranging from coffee makers to couches. Oh, if there happens to be a guy reading this they even have diamond engagement rings! I personally have been eyeing DSLR cameras and when I finally get ready to I am ordering one for here. I know how much you all love jewelry, and you know how much I love handmade jewelry, so how perfect is it that you can buy it from Overstock at an already great price and great shipping...but also with a discount. Finally, since this is something else I have been trying to convince Jeremy I need, they also sell leather couches.

Now, here is the even better thing about the discount code: it never expires. You read that right, the only thing is that it only work with your email address once. Awesome right, here is the info you need:

The discount code is:?121745?, good for 10% off Overstock products (excluding movies, books, and electronics).  This discount code never expires, however, it can only be used once per email address.
202234 - free shipping promo code for electronics.

Hope y'all enjoy!

All the ideas and opinions expressed are my own. No monetary compensation was received for doing this post, however, I was provided with a discount code.
